Bouquets!

I ha to add to my bouquet!  I wasn't happy with how plain it was so i simply added a covering of white satin and organza and glued on some of the purple organza butterfly's with the mix or the white, purple ribbon and lace used though out the theme.

I also have made up 2 simple bouquets to be given to the mothers at the reception.  They will also be given a photo frame with photo following the wedding once I have chosen the photos :)

Grooms items!

Well it seemed my groom soon got the creative bug and decided he wanted a few personalised items as well.

So he made up 5 pairs of these cuff link's, for him, his 2 best men and the fathers.  He soldered on the gears to cuff link blanks and then hot glued on the heart beads.

He also decided he wanted a steampunk style hat but disliked most you can purchase as being too fussy or over done or done wrong.  In the end he settled for simple and classy and purchased a bronzed pair of goggles and added them to his top hat!

Guestbook!

Given that we are having a steampunk/Victorian style wedding we wanted to use something suitable for our wedding day.  So my soon to be husband came up with the idea of a period typewriter!!

I loved the idea so we went off in search of one!  Easier said then done though, typewriters from the right time are very collectable and most sell for close to £100 if not more, unless in very bad condition.  Then add in delivery for what are usually bulky objects we were looking at prices of £150+  way beyond our budget :(

Just as we were starting to lose hope though we found this stunning Bartlett typewriter in perfect condition (needed cleaning and a new ribbon) locally for no more then £30 we just had to buy it!!!

Children's gifts and flowers

We have both come from large families and having done so have many nieces and nephews that are relatively  young coming to our wedding.  I know some people say no children at a wedding and others say that the children should not be thought of as its your day.

Well neither of us think that, we want the children to have fun and join in!
So in order to keep them happy and content at the wedding we have done a few things.

During the reception the children will all have their own table and their own buffet items (this is not to not include them but to make sure they are happy).  They will also all get a goody bag for entertainment.  Each bag contains 3 random toys, a mini colouring book and crayons, a mask, bubbles and a disposable camera so that they can take their own pictures of the day.

With having a few children coming who are under 18 months we are also giving them their own little gifts of these gorgeous soft toys!

Each guest at the ceremony will get one of these buttonholes which have a brooch pin on the bag so as to not snag clothing.

There is going to be a few very young girls at the ceremony  who all want to be princesses and since if we were to have nieces and nephews in our wedding party would give me 14 bridesmaids alone we decided they could still get a little posy :)

Confetti cones and basket

The confetti cones were very easy to make and I have made around 20 in alternating purple and lilac papers, the confetti itself is purple and ivory butterfly's and was purchased from an online biodegradable confetti store.  The basket will also hold the confetti and is simply decorated with some ribbon.

Candle holders!

Having a buffet for our wedding gives us options for different types of decorations.

This hurricane lantern will sit with a matching one on our guestbooks table (guestbook later)  with battery operated candles inside and I may add some more decoration to it.

This glass is one of 4 I have decorated with the purple ribbon and the lilac heart beads.  They will be situated around the wedding cake :)

Buttonholes and corsages.

We wanted something unique for the buttonholes so I came up with these gorgeous little ones!

The Grooms has a single wooden rose to match my bouquet, 3 purple feathers and a copper key with love written on it.  Tied with a purple ribbon and having four ribbons hanging from it with the lilac heart beads at the bottom, it truly is different.

The best men and the fathers with have the 3 feathers with the key and tied with a ribbon!

The corsages will be worn by the bridesmaids and the mothers.  The corsage bases are very simple Velcro with the lilac organza tied over it to hide it.  2 wooden roses and white ribbon with 3 feathers complete the look once the love keys are added.

Bag!

Just a stunning little Victorian purple handbag I found!

Tiara!

Despite having already made the circlet I actually decided to change my mind and have a tiara when I found this one!
Its very dainty and the stones are white and pale amethyst crystals with a gold base, it works wonderfully with the finished dress and the veil :)

Throwing bouquet!

Being that I wanted to have a thrown bouquet at my wedding but at the same time want to keep mine I decided the best option would be to make a mini bouquet to throw!  Using elements from the different floral parts of the wedding this is the result :)

Cake Knife!

I have a 'slight' obsession with butterfly's so wanted to be sure they were included in most parts of my wedding :)

So when I found this cake knife and server set I couldn't resist buying it!
My Parent's are buying our wedding cake and the topper is a purple spray of butterfly's so this will be a perfect match!

My walking stick!

Being disabled I need to use a walking stick, which as you can imagine is not exactly helpful in looking pretty.  Most of the sticks available within our budget are horribly clinical in look and made purely for use not looks.  Many man places now offer different looks but none apart from maybe Glamsticks offer personalised ones that would be suitable for a wedding.

So I bought a plain silver stick with the type of foam handle I find the most comfortable and added my own flair!
Having found a beautiful garland of silk flowers in the right colour combination I used the purple ribbon to tie it to the top and bottom of the stick and wrapped it with the garland.   At the top I tied a bow and left a long length of ribbon hanging down.

Decorations!

Some decorations we obviously can't make :)  So here are the few we have bought :)

Purple table cloths!   Gorgeous quality paper ones that are the perfect colour.

Silver hearts to scatter on to the table cloths!  I just couldn't resist :)

Ivory and Purple pearlised balloons :)  these will be tied with purple ribbon to the tables hanging down and a few extra for the kids to play with :)

Lilac organza, this has been used else where in the wedding but will also be swagged across the fronts of the tables to add a little extra colour.

Purple fairy lights!  I'm not sure where these will be yet but they are beautiful when lit and couldn't resist.

Purple butterfly bows, will hold the swags and balloons on to the tables :)

A hand made purple bunting, 12m in length :)  Will hang from the bar I think :)

Wow time has flown!!!

Have been so busy that I haven't had time to update this blog :(

Well the wedding is now only 11 days away!!!  Meep, just a little nervous so far :)

Will be putting up a few posts in the next few days to bring this all up to date :)
